Jefferson Vineyards
Jefferson Vineyards neighbors Monticello to the south, on land Thomas Jefferson granted Filipo Mazzei with the intention of starting a vineyard and winery in 1774. After failing in this original venture, the estate was once again planted in 1981 and has since garnered international acclaim producing wines of rare elegance.
Jefferson Vineyards is open daily 10am to 6pm April through October and from 9am to 5pm November through March. Tastings are $10, which includes 10 to 12 wines to sample, and a Riedel glass. We offer varied styles of wine with the goal of satisfying all who may visit.
Jefferson Vineyards hosts several educational events throughout the year. Winemaker dinners, blending classes, and special tastings are conducted to afford customers a more in depth experience with winemaker Andy Reagan.
